t's a web that is world wide out there, and every so often, something I haven't seen before emerges out of the pixels on my computer display. You can imagine what happens next. There's a frantic search for the "Add to Cart" button. There's a quick check of sizes available to see if it's a party I'm being invited to. There's the mandatory review of images and details to insure that whatever shoes have caught my eye are actually made of wood. And then there's the scramble to save the URL in some handy location so I can return to it later to tell you all about it.
So let's take a look at some of the cool new things I've discovered!

New Clogs at Mohop...and MORE
Visit our old friend Annie Mohaupt and take a look what she's up to these days! In addition to Mohop's signature TIY* wooden sandals, she and business partner Justin Walker have introduced a variety of wood soled clogs. Interestingly, they incorporate a foam footbed for added comfort. As with Annie's shoes from the beginning, they're customizable with a variety of leather colors and nail head accents. And she and her robots (yes, that what it says on the Mohop website) will craft your footwear in narrow, regular, or wide sizes from 5 to 13.
Woot!
These are some serious shoe makers! You never have to be without a pair of clogs that fits you again!

But that's not all.
Let's say after years of scouring the internet, you still haven't found the right combination of wooden goodness to make your feet smile and to fulfill your fashion fantasies. Well, it's Mohop Shoes to the rescue. Years ago we detailed the amazing 3-D wood cutting machine that this plucky Chicago company has at its disposal. Now they're willing to make the wonders of this device available to you!
To quote from the product description on Etsy:
Ever wanted to design your own high heels? We here is your chance! We will work with you one-on-one to create a custom pair of high heels to your individual foot specifications.
Woot!
That's two "woots" in the same post. Annie Mohaupt really knows how to make me smile!

Meanwhile, elsewhere on Etsy: JackieLoveClogs
Where has this craftsperson been? How have I overlooked her? Why do I not already own a pair of these???
Jackie Leggett is the U. K. artisan assembling these delightful shoes, and her Etsy listing tells the full story:
She studied art at Carlisle College followed by a degree in footwear design at the former Leicester Polytechnic. Being one of the few chosen to take part of The New Designers Exhibition in London, Jackie created her very first pair of clogs, paying homage to her great-grandfather, who used to produce traditional clogs in Maryport. A passion for beautifully crafted footwear was born.
These shoes are too cute to be believed!

Meanwhile, even elsewhere on Etsy: clogs from the Ukraine
Here's one for the guys in the crowd. Etsy seller ModaKvoda has a pair of handmade wood soled shoes. They're quite reminiscent of the shoes used in Morris dancing, don't you think? But the price is certainly reasonable. Size and measurement details provided.
Woot!
There. I said it again.
