Last Thursday I dropped by the Clogmaster fitting that was taking place here in Chicago, and while I was there, I learned something new. Actually, I learned a whole bunch of new things. Cecilia Tidlund, the dynamic woman who presides over the Clogmaster line, had brought the gospel of properly fitting clogs to town, and I simply had to meet her and experience what the buzz about her shoes was all about. (The short answer is: based on how my feet felt in her fitting salon, they're worth every penny. But that's the story for an upcoming post.) During my visit, Cecilia and I chatted about an entire website's full of content. Some of it, such as the interview I conducted, will be making it onto the e-pages of this blog...as soon as I have the opportunity to transcribe it. And some of it was just interesting factoids I picked up while we allowed the conversation to flow.
At one point in our chat, Ms. Tidlund asked me if I as a clog-loving blogger knew of the blog Grechen's Closet. "No, I don't," I told her, but from the way she inquired, I could tell I should pay it a visit as soon as I was in front of computer again. So at the end of last week I did. And I thought what better way to start off a new week than with a quick overview of another clog-loving blogger out there webland. So allow me introduce you to...Grechen!
Clearly, you can see what Grechen thinks of clogs and wood-soled shoes. And that's enough to endear her to our little community here, I think. But then I dug a little deeper and discovered that
Grechen’s Closet is one of the first online shopping blogs – est. 2005 – and features daily “finds,” personal reviews, exclusive “Grechen” coupon codes, sale features, and much more.
Did someone mention something about a sale?
Why, yes, she did!
Sale pick of the Day: Rachel Comey clogs – $110
Sale pick of the Day: Rachel Comey Clogs – $125
Sale pick of the Day: Swedish Hasbeens Clogs – $119
Not only does she have good taste in footwear that she indulges in wisely on a budget, but she can also be a valuable resource for helping you and me do the same. I asked her if she wouldn't mind my featuring her in a post here on Every Clog Has Its Day, and I'm happy to say she wrote back to say,
Lindsey!! I LOVE your blog and would be so honored to be featured!!
Thanks for thinking of me,
Grechen

[On my feet as I blog: my Savannah clogs from Matisse. Just heard from another reader who recently purchased a pair on eBay, and it reminded me how much I enjoyed them when I first got them. Today they took me to the grocery store to get the week's shopping done. Certainly, they deserve better surroundings, but I didn't want to have to wait for some special occasion. So onto my feet they went!]
wow! thank you so much for featuring me!! i have loved your blog since i discovered it, you're such an amazing voice for the clog-loving community :)
i'm truly honored.

I also have Grechen to thank for reintroducing me to clogs. (I'm a child of the 70's/80's, so Bastaad clogs were a college staple!) I think you'll love all of her blogs--she's one of the most sincere people you'll ever meet and she loves clothes!! Check out her blog for sale info--she always has the best sales and sites!! Love her <3

Thanks Gretchen and welcome to the asylum!
