I've been gazing so steadily in a "clogward" direction, I totally missed the fashion footwear prognostications that began to surface back in September. It's the next logical step, really. Clogs came back on the scene and brought with them thicker midsoles and chunkier heels. Now how do you take a sturdy design such as that and make it more feminine? Expose the toes! Show more of the foot! Add some straps! In short, design a new generation of platform sandals.
Which apparently is exactly what designers are doing.
Listed below a smattering of wooden goodies that have turned up in a number of Spring/Summer 2011 fashion shows.
For us clog lovers, it's win/win. Either we dig the potential craze for plats. Or we buy up the secondhand shoes that those who do will be unloading on eBay. I'll definitely need more storage space.

Take heart, clog fans. Platform sandals may be on the horizon, but I definitely felt my own spirits bolstered by this report from beautips.info.
2011 Spring fashion trends:
1. Jeans, wide-legs and flares are back.
2. Biker fashion and everything included: biker leather jacket, dirt bike boots and pants. All leather! The trendsetter for this spring 2011 trend is without a doubt, Burberry, with its drain coats with subtle quilting and dirt bike jacket zips, red leather dirt bike pants and zipped dirt bike jacket sleeves.
3. Sexy dolly lace! And when it comes to lace, you can wear blouses, skirts or dresses. The trendsetter for next year could be: Balmain. All about black sexy lace in its catwalk presentations.
4. When it comes to garnishing, it seems that we are back in the '50s and '60s. Cat eye glasses--sunglasses or eye glasses, just remember that generally speaking a cat eye frame with rounded-out edges will work wonders for a square face or diamond shaped face. And, the Clogs! Clogs with heels only. And you’ll be bowled over by the multitude of textures they've got! The sexiest we spotted are Chanel Clogs.
And just for good measure, here's this peek at a Spring 2011 clog from Miu Miu. Clearly all will be well with our corner of the fashion world.

[On my feet today: Good Lord, how did I wind up with so many clogs that I can't wear when I have to trundle across the snow covered tundra??? Threw on those BC Footwear Outerspace clog booties again. Though I have that Kybele clog boot from Nine West due to arrive any day now.]
There were clogs in my dreams! What does it mean?! :)

Ive often pondered what clogs symbolize in my own psyche. Is there some part of me thats clogged up that I need to pay attention to so it can be released? I liked a comment I saw from John Fluevog himself who observed that he didnt think it was a coincidence that the very bottom of our footwear, its foundation, is called a sole, the word that sounds just like the word we use to name our spiritual self, our soul. Somehow...for some of us, at least...the lowly shoe is able to provide us with contact with something deeper within ourselves.

Wow, you are wise in many things, not just clogs. What wisdom you have and can share with the world ;)
