As if the current crop of clogs weren't temptation enough, now at year's end, manufacturers and retailers alike are dropping there prices. Naturally I view this with a lot of wincing. "You mean the shoes I bought back in August are now available for half the price!!!" But I soon return to a more reasonable state of mind. After all, I was able to buy that pair back in August and not have it become sold out on me. Sometimes we pay full price for a reason. But a logical corollary to that is that when you can't afford some pair of shoes because you spent your budget on another pair (or nine), you sometimes can reap the benefits of having been forced to wait. Case in point: the Kybele clog boot below from Nine West. This fur lined style first appeared online back in July.
And then Nine West included it in their 30% off Boot Sale in November.
And then followed that up with Friends and Family discount pricing here in December that takes another 30% off the original price! This cozy looking winter boot was originally listed at $129.00. When I got done doing cartwheels across the carpeting and finally placed my order, the shoe only cost me $63.21. Add in tax and Nine West other current incentive, a $5.00 flat fee for shipping, and my total only came to a little over 70 bucks! If I'd bit and bought back at the end of summer, I'd have pair close to $150.00 when all was said and done. Woo-hoo! Hot new kicks for the collection...for less!
If you feel like indulging yourself, you can find the Kybele here. Sizes do seem to be dwindling quickly, though.
Meantime, I've noticed clog prices coming down many other places on the web. This TopShop sock lined clog boot (which I purchased in olive green for $160.00), is now listed for $100.00. I'd feel sick having bought them for so much more if they hadn't become part of my regular rotation. You can track them down with these links to the brown and the black versions.
Then there's this pair from Diane von Furstenberg. 33% off now at Nordstrom. (I tweaked the color a little to try to bring out their unique shade of eggplant suede.) Also available in tan leather.
And my beloved Bernardo XRAY clogs are currently reduced all over the web...including the Bernardo website.
Then there's this choice morsel of fabulous fabulosity: those incredible Prada lace up clog booties. Now on sale at Saks.com for 30% off plus free shipping. Time to drop some gift list hints, I'm thinking!

[On my feet today: Well, it's been snowing since the sun came up. So I threw those Outerspace booties from BC Footwear on my feet to go out in it this morning. But tonight I have dinner plans and a bit of live theater to attend with Cookie and Jim. I need to have on something special for that! I'll try to update when I figure out just what.]
I tried on the Kybele yesterday. That is one foxy shoe. Was with my husband, though, so it didn't come home with me.

What a pity he wasnt swayed by its foxiness! Well, now that you know exactly what size to order, just ask him to step out of the room when you find it online!
(You have me eager for my pair to arrive!)

Just had to say that dear Lindsey looked every bit as special for our Saturday Night outing as one would expect, Winter in Chicago be damned.
