Fashion is a creative art. So it comes as little surprise that the fruits of the fashion world's labors would eventually wind up in a museum to be appreciated and admired. A chance keystroke in a Google search sent me south of the equator to explore the holdings of Sydney, Australia's Powerhouse Museum. And quite a museum it appears to be. According to their About page, they have within their walls "a unique and diverse collection of 385,000 objects that spans history, science, technology, design, industry, decorative arts, music, transport, and space exploration." Sounds like just the place for an entertaining afternoon.
Of special interest to you and me is Object No. 89/778. The catalog simply lists it as "Clogs, pair, women's, leather/wood/metal/rubber, 1970-1978" and goes on to note
Pair of women's clogs with round toe and one piece wooden platform sole and heel. The clogs consist of 4 piece leather uppers, red, blue and green, joined together with large white leather stitching in patchwork style and fastened to the sole by means of a metal bracket and square metal rivets. The uppers are unlined. The one piece wooden sole and heel features a rubber top piece nailed on.

But that's "museumspeak" for you. All those clinical observations are well and good, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that these shoes are FABULOUS!
