Re-introducing Calou Stockholm
I published a fairly lengthy post on Calou clogs back in 2011 (and you can see it on ECHID here), but this Swedish maker of stylish footwear fell off my radar over the years. But yesterday while nosing around the Zappos website, I ran across a couple of intriguing designs bearing the Calou Stockholm name. These are decidedly both in the clog boot lane so you know they made my heart go pitter-pat.
But surf on over to the Calou Stockholm website and go gaga over the variety of shoes available.
Including something I've never seen before: rubber clog rain boots. Will wonders never cease!
Keep in mind that they clearly state that on all of their clogs, the soles are not wood, they're polyurethane. But according to their product descriptions, "an all-natural wood veneer on top of the sole contours to the shape of the wearer’s foot and delivers that authentic feel."
Musse & Cloud
This new to me maker was another discovery, made while scouring Nordstrom.com. Note: not wood, but "woodgrain." They also stock platform sandals by Musse & Cloud, too.
And Jeffrey Campbell broke my heart
I'm a JC addict, I'll admit. I mainline his styles whenever I can. So I was thrilled to see some new examples of wooden goodness on the Jeffrey Campbell website. And when I saw this shoe in the New Arrivals product gallery, I clicked through ready to place my order.
But as you'll notice, there's a decidedly empty space adjacent to the 10. This wonderful wood soled shoe was apparently not manufactured in sizes larger than that.
Oh, say it ain't so! (Hangs head. Tears flow freely.)
