'm like a hen fretting over chicks whenever I run a contest on Every Clog Has Its Day. I fuss and fidget wondering whether or not I've presented it enticingly enough to get people to enter. And as the days pass, I worry whether or not I'll get enough entries to make it feel like a contest. Of course, I should know better after all my years in broadcasting. There's no greater enticement than the word "free". And as with all the other free clog giveaways I've done here, it never fails to draw a crowd. And great procrastinator that I am, I should have been well aware that most of the entries were going to arrive as the deadline became imminent. In any event, it's over. I'm pleased with the results. I loved the time and effort so many readers put into creating their entries. And the folks at Ugglebo are happy, too. What more could one ask for at the end of a successful promotion? Tuesday night, I took a deep breath, put on a great pair of wood soled shoes, and made myself a good dinner (salmon pesto with couscous and steamed broccoli, if you're curious). Thank you all for making our little clog loving community here feel like a community. It is fun to talk about something we all enjoy with no fear that the person listening (or reading) is going to roll their eyes. We all "get it". And that feels so good.
And while we're on the topic of "getting" something, let's see what new styles are available this week.

[On my feet as I blog: well, this is a quandary. I have on a new pair of wood soled shoes as I sit here stabbing the keyboard with my fingertips. But it's a pair I was going to wear to surprise a guest who's coming for a visit this weekend. If I post them here, they won't be a surprise anymore! I know this makes two straight days of no "On My Feet As I Blog" images, but I promise to deliver tomorrow!]

That Gloria e Olivia sandal really appeals to me in all its simplicity. Nice leather, nice wood, nice studs, nice price. Instant summer holiday feel. (Sigh. Isn't February the most dreary of months?)

And Johanna? Won't they make a delightful smack against your foot as you walk?! It'll be warm before you know it!

Yes! Almost like the thwack of a tennis ball! I can't wait.
