Just a quick post to tide us all over.
My family has a tradition of opening one present on Christmas Eve. So my daughter not surprisingly dived for the closest thing to a shoe box underneath the tree and dug out the Rock Tie oxfords from Jeffrey Campbell that I was splitting the cost of with her. She naturally had to try 'em on that night, first with her brother for support...
...and then unassisted.
Then Christmas morning, on they went again so that her brother could take some shots of them with his camera using his new tripod.
Meantime, you'd have been hard pressed to find me during the holidays without my No. 6 thigh high clog boots on.
While regular reader Melissa Krebs was excited to show off a vintage pair of Michael Kors clog sandals a friend gave for Christmas.
And then she dazzled my friend Renée and I at dinner with her stunning combination of the Anat clogs from All Saints and a gorgeous pair of knit leg warmers. Can you tell she was a dancer once upon a time?

This just in: my daughter discovered that although those Space sandals from Minimarket may not fit me at all, they work on her feet just fine. And here's proof. I guess she's getting two pairs of shoes for Christmas this year.

[On my feet as I blog: I felt my No. 6 clog boots needed a rest. After wearing them for three days straight, I thought the shearling lining could use some time off. So I returned to my other OMG! pair, the Nadine clog bootie from Koolaburra.]
Your daughter must have been very good this year to get 2 pairs of awesome wood footwear. Lindsey you are a good mother. The new shoes are great. I like them without socks. The sandals rock too. She has some serous hair going on there. Melissa was even good enough to show off 2 pairs. Now with all of this good influence of wood wonders going around, we have get you son to realize how great they are.

I love that you and your daughter share taste in shoes! I guess the same can be said for myself and my child. Every morning, Noah toddles into my closet and brings out a pair of mom's clogs. His favorite are my blue picnic clog sandals from Anthropologie -- he even tries to put them on his tiny little feet. His selections are a good way for me to find out what shoes I'll be wearing for the day, unless they're not seasonally appropriate, of course. Sometimes he insists, though. I'll put away the pair he selected, grab another pair, then he'll complain and go back to retrieve the pair he picked out.
Melissa's vintage Michael Kors are spectacular, by the way.

@Evan: actually, it's the wonderful leg warmers that were a gift---they are warm and soft and my favorite color to wear!
@Tea: can't take credit for the fabulous Michael Kors either! They were a Christmas present from my perfect sweetheart---can you imagine?! My love is not only gorgeous and smart and hilarious, but he has stunning taste in shoes! How lucky am I? And it sounds like Noah is such a man in the emaking!

@Evan, haha, that's my black scarf fringe draping down in front of me, and you can see my shorter brown hair in the upper right. And I like the JCs without socks as well, I just was so eager to get 'em on that I didn't think about it before they were already laced up.
@Melissa Hi! Loving your legs in those warmers!

@Sara: Hey Gal! Love seeing you here!

@ Sara welcome your mom is the bomb. LOL on the hair thing. I was trying to figure who's hair that was in the background. I thought it was Lindsey's. You could rock the long, black, crimped thing hair. @ Melissa I still see 2 pairs of shoes. In my mind they are clogs. I am going with that. To all and everybody here "hoppy New Year to you". (when I say hoppy New year I refer to beer.) @ Lindsey's son "dude where are your clogs". @Tea you son is a future member of this blog.

Clogs sans socks rock! Wonderful your daughter is in tune.
My 5-year-old has her own collection of clogs, and like Mommy, eschews socks for the barefoot look.
One advantage of a toddler clop-clopping around the house on hardwood floors is that you know exactly where she is all the time. Stealth is not an option for the wooden sole shod.

Ah, warming up by the hearth and its wonderful yuletide clogs. Lovely. I can see the cloggings will continue because that's what improves morale.
Y'all look fabulous in your new footwear. Well, your legs do. But I'm assuming the rest of youse looks just as fabulous.
Happy Shoe Year, everyone!
