Mark Casperson of Multnomah Leather Shop is no stranger to decidedly different footwear. In his workshop, he regularly brings the most fanciful creations to life. And now he wants to do exactly that for you!
Help Mark come up with a fun new design, and you could win that shoe for free!
Mark would like to offer a new clog for under $200.00. And he's asking you to help him come up with the design. His entire palette of leathers and suedes is at your disposal. (Pay a visit to the Multnomah Leather Shop Colors page and take a look at the options.) Just keep the guidelines below in mind when you sit down to dream up your creation. Then submit your idea (or ideas, if you're feeling prolific) by Monday, September 5th (Labor Day for those of you here in the U. S.). The winning entry will be notified by e-mail and acknowledged on this blog and then be the subject of a feature post once the shoes have been completed.
This is the perfect opportunity to think outside the clog box and dream up a new kind of shoe. With the laces off center. Or an unexpected design accent. Or different colors on different halves of the shoe. Or maybe a combination of leather, suede, and patent we've never seen before. Just keep it simple enough to be affordable and have fun!
• The design should have no more than a 1" rise from the front of the shoe to the heel in order to work with his lasts. (Both regular and tall soles are suitable.
• The design should be a traditional low top clog (not a boot style).
• Try to incorporate laces into your design.
• In exchange for the rights to make and market your winning design, Multnomah Leather Shop will make you a free pair of your own.
How to submit your idea
You can draw, paint, illustrate, fabricate, mold with clay, or use Photoshop to present your design. Your skills here can be rudimentary as long as they get the idea across. Keep in mind that Mark has created incredible shoes based on nothing more that a child's scribble. Don't say to yourself, "I can't." You can. And we want to see it!
Once you've created your design, put it into the digital world by scanning it, taking a digital photo of it, or saving the file as a jpeg (or other compressed format graphic file) and send the image to Every Clog Has Its Day at this e-mail address: everyclogblog at comcast dot net.
Designs must be submitted by midnight (PDST), September 5th, 2011.
Good luck. And start dreaming!
