Oh, dear. It's Friday already. And here I am pedaling fast to survive the rush up to a three-day holiday weekend. Why do we always seem to pay the price for time off by having to do extra work leading up to a break? I have to admit that Guy Day Friday is upon me, and I have no time to prepare a proper post. But instead of offering an apology an punting, I'm offering this vintage video about the clog making craft. Filmed in Sweden in 1923, it shows a craftsman whacking together (literally) a new pair of wooden shoes right before our eyes.
A big thank you to regular reader Melissa Krebs who spotted this little video nugget on Woodworking for Mere Mortals. It's not something I would typically feature on a Guy Day Friday, but hey, it features a) guys, b) clogs, and c) hand tools. What could be more guy-like than that?
Wish me luck. I think I will make it to the finish line intact this week. But I apologizxe for having to cut some corners along the way.
