Happy Memorial Day to everyone. I'm stuck in with a sick child, but it's a great day up here weather wise, wish I were out clop-clopping around.

My 4½-year-old daughter was running a low-grade temp, 100.2, all congested, could hardly breath. But she managed at least four shoe changes during the day: two Sanitas--red and blue, both with hearts, a pair of Mary Janes and slippers. (She lines up the day's footwear in her room, then switches off and on all day--a mini-Imelda Marcos!) The kid is following in her mother's footsteps, literally--God bless her--definitely headed for the high-maintenance track!
