Right here in my own backyard (well, a 30 minute drive from my own backyard), Chicago based shoe maker Annie Mohaupt is launching her own ready-to-wear line! Woo-hoo, Annie! She's been creating fabulous wood soled footwear for years now. Happily with the arrival of 2011, she's stepping up her game and getting her unique designs into retail locations. But I'll let her tell you all about it in her own words below. The long and short of it, though, is that if you'd like to have a pair of her handcrafted artisan sandals (as opposed to the manufactured version) in your closet, this would be the perfect time to shop!
We’ve been making shoes by hand in our Chicago studio for over 5 years - and we look forward to many more years of creating artisan footwear! But we know it’s not much fun for our customers to wait at least 4-8 weeks for a pair of Mohop shoes, so we’ve launched a new Ready To Wear collection! Click the link to check our our first two new styles for resort 2010/2011, which are available to ship now. In the new year, we’ll be working with retail stores (YAY!!!) - but that means that we can no longer sell our shoes at wholesale prices as we’ve done for the past couple years (sorry!).
Our last batch of handmade shoes at wholesale prices is available on Etsy until they sell out. We'd hoped to have them all posted in December, but it looks like it will take til mid January to list the last of the handmade shoes at wholesale prices. We’ll be adding even more custom options and luxurious touches to our handmade line in the new year - yes, they’ll be more expensive, but each pair will be made to order and completely one of a kind!
Alternately, our ready to wear line is more cost-conscious and available to ship upon order. We’re so thrilled to offer more options to our customers! We’ll be adding lots of content to our site, blog, and Facebook page in the next weeks that gives all sorts of detailed information on both lines. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us at shoes at mohop.com if you have any questions!

[On my feet today: I went the distance in my Underground clog boots from Jeffrey Campbell. Yes-s-s-s-s!]

Hi again... I am on the Calypso St. Barth website right now and they are marking off an additional 50% all sale items.
Those shearling lined clogs by Sultan Wash would only be $150 after the discount which is awesome considering they started at $495.
It looks like they are still available in Euro size 41... not sure if that'll work or not. Might be worth a try at this price.
Have a good one!
