Just an assortment of wooden goodness from controversial designer Steve Madden. Alexander McQueen's lawsuit last October charging the company with ripping off one of his designs was only the latest in a long string of troubles plaguing this particular brand. Company founder Madden was convicted of stock manipulation and securities fraud back in 2002 and was forced to resign from the board of directors. Of course in the wake of all of the Wall Street excesses we've heard about it comes as no surprise that after Madden stepped down he was made a consultant to the company and served his time drawing a hefty six-figure salary. Kind of makes you want to buy his shoes from a reseller, doesn't it?
The top two clogs are still available on eBay as of this writing. The bottom clog came from an auction at the beginning of the year, now long since ended. I'm only including it because the topic is Steve Madden and I find that upturned sole at the toe irresistible.
