Yet a few more reasons to clean out a little space in your closet and make room for some additional footwear satisfaction in your world. You've probably noticed that the price of clogs ranges from reasonable to astronomical. Following last week's What's New? post, Every Clog Has Its Day reader, Kiki, offered some comments about expensive shoes that I'd like to pass along:
Clogs to me can be a trip down memory lane or a dream for the future me...in them, of course. :) Either way my devotion and desire for them is going to cost because wooden based shoes that are poorly made are going to cost me more in foot problems than it's worth. So.....$150/$230 or even *gasp* $400 for a pair of clogs that I'll enjoy for years? For me, Yes. That Yes is without guilt, but not without sacrifice. . . . As I've gotten older I've realized that some things have stayed with me. My love for clogs is one of them. . . . Clogs have gotten expensive no kidding, but for some of us that "soulmate" clog is going to be worked hard for and appreciated all the more.
Well, put. As much as I rave about this shoe or that, I always do so with an eye toward what my budget will bear. It's one thing to have a passion. It's another to be caught up in an obsession. Love clogs. But live life.
One additional point: as with every decision in life, it's important to make a clog purchasing decision with open eyes. Take those famous/infamous Chanel clogs. They set back one customer $1795.00 plus tax. I had to take a deep breath or two when I read that. But that customer, one of the participants at The Purse Forum, had this cautionary tale to offer:
I just bought them and guess what.. I am returning them. I am so upset at myself right now .. I was dying for these shoes for so long, was on waitlist for so long and I finally got to buy them but really .. after a good night sleep .. and a serious look at the infamous BIJOUX - made of plastic - By simply trying them out, I started losing a pearl. . . . The quality is just not there, and the overpriced is def an issue. . . . I was expecting a brooch quality item in metal, and not a plastic element which is going to break in 2 months. I am so upset at myself and at CHANEL right now. I'm done !!! Don't buy those shoes, you will end with a pair of linen clogs not worth the name.
Finding the right pair of shoes is like finding the right person to have a relationship with. They should flatter you. Make you feel good about yourself. Never hurt you unnecessarily. And be worth what you invest in them. If they don't, well, it's like your friends always tell you after a break up, there are other fish in the sea!

1. Kathleen clog from Jeffrey Campbell
I sorely wish that Jeffrey Campbell would just open a shop or website somewhere that stocked all of the shoes in their Woodies line in one place. I keep seeing the heel pad with that name popping up on all sorts of clogs and sandals I'd love to own, but I've never been able to find them all in one place. Probably just as well. Still, it would make for a sweet kid-in-a-candy-shop moment.
My appreciation for this shoe maker has been boundless ever since they released their faithful spins on the Chanel clogs, the Charlie (listed someplaces online as the Charli) and the Karl. But we shouldn't overlook their other delightful wood soled designs. This one, the Kathleen, is now available in select sizes on the Jildor e-store.

2. T-strap clog pump from Biviel
I was just saying how finding the right pair of shoes can be like finding the right person for a relationship. Well, here's a shoe that's my equivalent of love at first sight. Built on a wooden sole (of course), this snappy little Biviel T-strap has an adorable upturned toe and an inward curving heel that combine to give it a saucy silhouette. And it's available in a range of colors, Black, Taupe, and Milk, so you can have a spring/summer pair and one for fall/winter, too. Tracking it down may take a bit of work. I found these shoes on both Endless and Amazon, but different sizes were sold out on each. Biviel has the rather odd practice of releasing their footwear with nothing but a stock number for identification. This style is known as Bv2607...which kind of takes the prospective sizzle out of telling a friend about them? "Where did you get those fabulous shoes?" "Oh, these? They're a little something from Biviel. They call them Bv2607."

3. Perforated clog from Biviel
Or as one website inexplicably lists it, "perf'd clog". Lots of airy comfort to offer here in a couple of warm weather colors. It shares the toe and heel style of its sibling listed above. But with the open heeled, slip on design, this shoe is a clog all the way. And there's that wrap around effect of the suede upper encircling the bottom of the sole. Yum! No wonder they gave it the sexy name of No. Bv2605. I tingle all over just hearing it.
Some shopping required for this one, too. Morrison & Me have it in Denim Nubuck. Zappos carries it in Taupe.

4. Clip sandal from Jeffrey Campbell
I know I mentioned this designer earlier, but I wanted to save the sad news 'til later in the post. I spotted this style just a week ago on the Lori's Shoes site. Sizes then were limited. When I went back to write it up for you today, I could only reach their forlorn looking "This product is no longer available" page. Wow! That was fast! At least having caught sight of them here (courtesy of the photos I nabbed from Lori's Shoes when they were still for sale), you'll know what to look for during your next brick and mortar shoe safari.
Seeing them again as I'm preparing today's blog, I'm once again struck with the thought, "God, are those CUTE!!!"

5. "Original Swedish Clogs" aka Cape Clogs
And finally, a heads up. Many of the stunning printed leather styles of the Cape Clogs brand have just been sighted at Walmart. Personally, I would encourage you to support the manufacturer directly through their website, but finances are what they are these days, and you can save yourself a little more milk money by supporting the retail vision of Sam Walton. Either way, you'll get a sweet pair of eye catching clogs. And who wouldn't love that?
Oh my gosh, I'm shocked these are at Walmart! I had already bookmarked the third floral pair on the Cape Clog site. They are just so sweet looking but now I'm thinking Walmart ????? Hmmm.
I have no idea why I'm in such a mood for a *sherbety* clog but I emailed the Clarks.Uk people yesterday to see if they would ship the coral Gywnith Susie. They can't, boo hoo:( I swear, that clog is too, too cute!
Love the Jeffrey Campbell pics btw. I just wish I didn't become so tall in his styles but maybe I should just embrace it :)
